Lacey King

Shé:kon Sewakwé:kon, Kajihtsiyoh niyonkáts. My English name is Lacey King. Wakskarewake Kenhté:ke nitiwákenon. My research which develops enriched understandings of Haudenosaunee women’s teachings, derives from my personal, professional, educational, and cultural experiences. Indigenous ways of knowing are passed down intergenerationally, and it is through being in community that I have been given this knowledge. I feel grounded and inspired when utilizing the traditional approaches as an Haudensaunee scholar re-searching Onkwéhon:we thought. I am passionate about Indigenous worldviews, approaches, epistemologies, paradigms, and methodologies.

Lacey King is a PhD Student in Cultural Studies at Queens University. She lives in Tyendenaga First Nation.
