Parkway Forest Time Machine

Enter the time machine to take a trip through decolonial non-linear time

We collaborate with immigrant, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee youth, to imagine a decolonized timescape in Toronto’s Parkway Forest neighbourhood. This 32-acre enclave, located in the Henry Farm area of North York, is a multicultural “walking” suburb with subway access, high-rise living, gentrification, overcrowded older apartments in need of repair, and transitional settlement patterns. The area’s rich history includes over 12,000 years of Indigenous presence, most recently by the Anishinaabeg. There are two time machines: Enter the projection dome to find yourself in an immersive storyworld that weaves together an interactive time-travel experience. Or time travel through your cell phone: click on the QR code and walk through the portal into the timescape.
